Language-Specific Product Images

Many product images contain text: a size guide, a software screenshot, a promotional banner, the label of a box. PrestaShop shows every image in every language, so your French customers see the English size guide and your German customers the Dutch banner. Language-Specific Product Images lets you choose, per image, in which languages it is shown.

You choose the languages where you already manage images: in the Images section of the product page. A language bar above the images shows only the images of one language and follows the language of your texts, badges show the languages of every image, and language buttons next to the caption set the languages of one or several images, saved with the product like your texts. Images you upload while a language is chosen get that language automatically.

In the shop, every language shows the photos for all languages plus its own images: on product pages, in categories, search results, quick view and the cart, in Classic, Hummingbird and the themes based on them, without overrides. The main image follows the language too. For a language without images of its own you choose: show the images of the default language or all images.

Google sees the right image per language: the product page, the product data (JSON-LD) and the social image (og:image) take the images of the language, and an image sitemap per language lists only the images of that language with hreflang links between the languages.
